Guest Love #3 - Kearsie
Kearsie is awesome. She is also our newest Guest Lover. Here are her picks! Enjoy!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Shoes:
Yellow Box Flip Flops. Seriously. If you haven't purchased a pair of these, you are robbing your feet and you should be slapped. Just a little. By someone who loves you. Erm. These are, by far, the best flip flops I have ever worn and I shall cry real tears when winter comes and I have to wear winter shoes. Although, then I will no longer have to maintain the crusty heels and paint my toenails, so.
Home Decor:
I lurve Tervis Tumblers. Mine has a black and white polka dotted grosgrain ribbon with a hot pink K monogrammed on it. I'll admit- it was a wee bit spendy. However, these are so great because they keep your cold drinks cold (and no one likes lukewarm drinks, unless you're super weird) and hot drinks hot. They come in colors or clear with optional decorations. These are also virtually indestructible, but if they do by chance break, then Tervis will replace it as they have a lifetime warranty. Isn't that awesome?
Store:
I shall answer this question knowing full well that folks will point and shout DORK. I don't care. I adore Big Lots. I love them because it's always a mystery what special things Big Lots will have at their store. I buy things like shampoo and body wash there as well as cereal and snacks. They are all name brand stuff with way cheapskate prices. And I likes it. Aloh. Plus, that's where I found my oisome hair straightener that I love so much I wrote an Ode to it.
Food/Candy:
I have kicked the dangerous but delicious habit of eating Reese's Cups recently. It has been a long time love that has been nothing but unhealthy and damaging. Much like a bad boyfriend. So. To fill the gap of love, I switched to Dove Dark Chocolates. They are like tiny hearts of chocolatey goodness and if you think like me, and why wouldn't you really, it's also like eating a vitamin. Because it's dark chocolate. Which is good for you. Sort of. And did you know that you could create your own message on the inside of the wrapper? Yeah, me neither, but that's what the website says.
Questions:
1. SO.... Who are you?
Well, I always introduce myself to folks by saying "Hi I'm Kearsie and I'm 33 and I have chronic bad hair." Or I lay a high five on them. Because I'm down with the high fives. And then folks run away saying "that Karissa sure is weird". And I call after them "No! It's KEARSIE! Like EAR! K-EAR-see!" And they keep running. I really don't get it.
2. Wanna give us a short blurb about your life...so we can get to know you and love you?
I'm from Alaska, I'm married to an Alabama farm boy and we created two beautiful girls, Emma and Addie. They are often the fodder for my blog, Sounds Like Tomatoes. I'm a legal secretary by day, crafter and reader and blogger extraordinaire by night and weekend. And sometimes day. I'm not picky. I'm pretty random. I'm a habitual deodorant user, so I smell nice. My hair is often a mess. And I don't believe in ironing. I'm ok with this.
3. What do you do for fun!?
I read aloh, many many books go through our home. I watch lots of movies and reality TV. I write about random things like my eyebrows, new underwear and skin tags. Or really, I write about wanting to write about skin tags. I know what you're thinking: "What's a skin tag? Does she have a skin tag? Why would she write about a skin tag? I don't get it..." Don't worry if you're confused. It happens. I like you anyways. I also do lots of sit down activities like knitting, quilting, needle felting, sewing and scrapbooking. I really think I can make it big in the Crafting World by marketing a "Slim Down While You Sit Down" workout for us crafters. It involves lots of arm movement and leg lifts. Mostly you just look spastic.
4. Tell us a weird or unique fact about you!
I can flip you off with my left toes. I also have a birthmark of an electric guitar on my right hip. I'm pretty sure that makes me a rock star.
5. Any links you want to share? We are all about sharing the love, ya know!
Gorsh. There are so many linky loves I could share. I suppose I shall have to settle for homestarrunner.com.

We hope you love Kearsie! We all love Kearsie at OILT... I actually read her blog religeously, but don't comment. I know I'm bad, Kearsie, but I do read it!!!!
How can you not love a girl who loves her hair straightener!?

Love #215 - Volvo
oh i love that volvo v70!
any of volvo's exterior selections are quite lovely. but silver is my favorite. now before you jump to any conclusions. this is not some awkward twilight implant. i'm not jumping on board the volvo train because edward cullen happens to drive one. no no no.
see. i've been researching volvo way before glittery vampires made the name h-o-t. and it just so happens, the volvo i love is a v70. and the v70, my friends, is the sportswagon. a sp-or-ts-wa-gon. they're no longer called station wagons. that's right. this ain't your momma's car. erm...
do you have an "i-really-really-really-want-that" car?

Love #214 - StudioElan
I love pretty things. I'm sure you all have noticed that before, right?
I saw StudioElan on the front page of Etsy the other day and had to look at each piece in her shop.
This lovely pink and green bowl is by far my favorite piece. It's a Dip Dish and actually comes with the cute wooden handled spreader! I love making bread, so this would be perfect to mix up some seasoned butter or cream cheese!
Ok, I love pretty things and I LOVE inexpensive things too.... This dip dish with the spreader is only $18.00 and the shipping is $9.00 (from Canada). Still, $27.00 for this bowl is so beyond reasonable and inexpensive I have to buy one... Someday. Soon. Unless someone wants to buy it for me. I'm open to that too.
Ok. You need to check out her shop. You have to. I only picked one item. There are Salt Shakers and Ring Vases, Serving Pieces and so much more!
I ♥ StudioElan!!!

Love #213- Jean Skirts
I got this skirt from Kohl's the other day and I am in love. It comes to just above the knee, which I love. It feels like a short skirt without being too short, and the belt buckle is nice and chunky. It has a great wash and a vintage feel. With flip flops, or heels, it's perfect for summer. Plus, now it's on sale for 19.99. A great price for a seriously cute skirt.

And, as a matter of fact, she already told you you won, so I'm just writing this for everyone else to read. They'll be sad... You get the cute monkey!
